And So Forth is delighted to invite you to the latest of our Forums for artists: a free event giving attendees the opportunity to share practice, get advice, and air their ideas and experiences of various crucial elements of being an artist.
What is it about?
This event, ‘What Next?’, asks how performers and other artists can maintain and develop their craft after, or outside of formal college/conservatoire training. In this safe space, everyone’s opinions and experiences are valid and valuable: come and pick the brains of other artists, as well as sharing what you’ve learned in your career so far. Singer? Come and ask an actor about their training and how they work on stage. Actor? Come and ask a singer about looking after your voice and improving your vocal performance. And much, much more…
Who will be there?
As well as our attendees just like you, we’ll be joined by some exciting established theatre and opera professionals not only to offer advice, but also to point you in the direction of books, workshops, lessons, online material and other resources. Come along to pick their brains about what’s out there on offer to you!
How will it work?
The forum will be chaired by And So Forth Artistic Director, Laura, and will take the form of an open, frank dialogue to which everyone will be invited to contribute.
Why is And So Forth holding this event?
We believe strongly in the power of dialogue not only between artists but also across disciplines: in the competitive world of the arts we have found again and again that giving practitioners the opportunity to get in a room together and actually talk can prove incredibly powerful – we don’t think this happens enough! Our previous forums have sent attendees away feeling empowered, informed and excited.
This forum is offered in conjunction with our autumn series of workshops for performers. Several of our workshop leaders will be at the forum to enable you to ask more about what we have on offer, and find out if the workshops are for you. Come along to find out more!
